In light of the growing demand for services from our corporate clients, we are augmenting our transportation operations by integrating a fleet of modern trucks. We now seek to recruit qualified candidates for the role of Truck Driver to join our dynamic workforce. Job Description
Position: Truck Driver, (2)
Location : Lilongwe & Blantyre, Malawi
Job Type : Permanent
Reporting Lines : Fleet & Logistics Manager
Responsibilities
● Operate freight trucks with a gross weight exceeding 26 tonnes, transporting goods and materials across both local and regional routes.
● Complete delivery paperwork and trip reports, which include the Delivery Note, Goods Received Note, fuel tickets, logbooks, mileage records, and any additional required reports.
● Coordinate with management to ensure timely pickups and deliveries while upholding a high level of customer satisfaction.
● Assist in the loading and unloading of trucks, and accurately record and verify the quantities of the goods loaded and delivered.
● Conduct comprehensive pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure personal safety and safeguard the vehicle and its cargo.
● Adhere to all safety regulations, traffic laws, and operational procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment and reporting any delays or incidents.
● Maintain trucks in a safe and clean condition.
● Identify the need for repairs and/or maintenance of the trucks.
Qualifications & Attributes
● Minimum of a Malawi School Certificate of Education(MSCE).
● Clean HGV driving record with a valid Class C Malawi Driver’s License and at least 2 years of relevant experience.
● Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and fundamental safety practices.
● Conversant with navigating Google Maps, mobile GPS systems and route planning.
● Must be willing to work on occasional weekends to meet business requirements.
● Ability to work in a demanding environment, demonstrate integrity over resources and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
● Excellent communication and time management skills.
