Mobile Crusher Supervisor

Lotus Africa seeks to recruit a suitably qualified and motivated individual to the post of a Mobile Crusher Supervisor at Kayelekera Uranium Mine in Karonga.

JOB SUMMARY:

Crusher Mechanical Supervisor is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of crushing plants in mining, quarrying, or construction industries. This position bridges the gap between upper management and ground-level staff, ensuring that production targets are met efficiently and safely.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Equipment Uptime: Maintain optimal operational availability of engineering systems.
  • Planned vs Unplanned Maintenance Ratio: 100% adherence to scheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Job Card Completion Rate: Ensure 100% completion and proper documentation of job cards.
  • Breakdown Response Time: Time taken to respond to and resolve breakdowns.
  • Repair Turnaround Time: Complete repair jobs within 6-12 hours for minor issues and within 3 working days for major repairs.
  • Downtime Reduction: Decrease equipment downtime by 10% year-over-year.
  • Quality of Workmanship: Inspection, measuring and testing results; avoid rework as best possible.
  • Adherence to Schedule: Performance against daily and weekly maintenance plans.
  • Uphold predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance strategies as per OEM guidelines for engineering equipment.
  • Perform routine inspections, oil changes, filter replacements, and system diagnostics to prevent breakdowns.
  • Promptly address unplanned breakdowns or issues detected during operation or inspections.
  • Utilize data from diagnostic tools to anticipate and mitigate potential failures.
  • Carry out timely repairs of mechanical failures, addressing root causes to prevent recurrence.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, and KNOWLEDGE

  • MSCE Certificate or equivalent or Higher Education.
  • Qualified fitter Trade Certificate or equivalent from a recognised institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ trade experience in a mobile workshop & mining environment.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English.
