
ADMARC Limited
ADMARC Limited Company was established as Statutory Corporation in 1971 under Chapter 67.03 of the Laws of Malawi. The Act was repealed in 2003. Following that, ADMARC was incorporated as a Limited Liability Company, under the Companies Act. The repeal saw ADMARC Limited becoming a non-subvented Statutory Corporation, but with Government being a major shareholder with up to 99% shares.
The Board of Directors of ADMARC Ltd resolved to overhaul ADMARC Ltd by Corporate restructuring. The Board approved new structures for ADMARC Ltd with new skills sets to take the new ADMARC forward. All employees were retrenched.
ADMARC Limited, a Statutory Corporation in Agricultural Marketing is looking for suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following positions:-
Title of Post: Farm Manager
Grade: AL 4 (One Year Contract, renewable)
Location: Balaka Division
Reporting to: Director of Operations
Purpose of the Job
To plan, organise and control all farming operations to ensure efficient production and proper use of resources and compliance with agriculture standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop Annual Production Plans for Crop production at all ADMARC Limited farms.
- Prepare and manage budgets for farm activities with a focus on managing cost of production to ensure the business financial stability.
- Oversee and supervise all aspects of crop production throughout the production cycle that include soil management, land preparation and other agronomic practices including post-harvest crop handling.
- Plan day to day farm operations to ensure accomplishment of set targets for crop production.
- Adhere to best production practices for crop production to ensure compliance, maximize productivity and business profitability.
- Ensure efficient use of all farm resources such as land, seed, Crop Protections Agents (CPA’s), farm Implements and machinery.
- Develop and ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures for all activities in all ADMARC Limited Farms with a profitability and risk mitigation mindset.
- Implement strategies and control measures that protect crops from pests and disease.
- Adhere to agricultural best practices that conserve soil, forest, wildlife and water resources.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management reports.
- Oversee use and maintenance of farm equipment and buildings.
- Maintain accurate farm records including production data, stock records and financial records.
- Monitor farm performance and implement strategies to improve yields and productivity.
- Ensure proper storage of farm inputs and produce.
- Advise management on crop production improvements.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and labor laws in all ADMARC Limited Farms.
- Any other duties assigned by Management from time to time.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in Agriculture/Agronomy/ Agribusiness Management/Irrigation Engineering and those with Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/Agronomy/Agribusiness Management/Irrigation engineering will have an added advantage.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial farming and large-scale crop production, with proven knowledge of irrigation systems and mechanized farming practices. Those who have managed farms will have an added advantage.
