SUPPLY AND LAST-MILE DISTRIBUTION OF INDUCTION COOK STOVES AND LPG COOK STOVE UNDER THE HEAT PROJECT

Introduction

Norwegian Church Aid/DanChurchAid (NCA-DCA) Malawi Joint Country Programme is implementing the HEAT Project aimed at increasing access to affordable, safe and sustainable clean cooking technologies among peri-urban households in Zomba district.

The project seeks to promote the adoption of induction cook stoves and LPG cook stove packages through an innovative market-based distribution model that combines private sector participation with targeted subsidies. Under this model, NCA-DCA will subsidize 85% of the approved landing cost while beneficiaries contribute 15%, thereby reducing affordability barriers while promoting ownership.
