
African Parks
African Parks is a non-profit conservation organisation that takes on responsibility for the long-term management of protected areas in partnership with governments and local communities. African Parks manages 24 protected areas in 13 countries covering over 20 million hectares in Angola, Benin, Central African Republic, Chad, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Malawi, Mozambique, the Republic of Congo, South Sudan, Rwanda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Currently African Parks in Malawi manages Majete Wildlife Reserve, Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserves, Liwonde National Park and Mangochi Forest. African Parks – Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve invites suitably qualified, experienced and passionate Malawians to fill the following vacant positions.
POSITION: WORKSHOP SUPERVISOR
Contract Duration: Two-year contract subject to renewal based on performance
The Workshop Supervisor will report directly to the Field Operations Manager.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but not limited to):
- Must have practical experience in a busy mechanical workshop, working on Toyota Land cruisers, Isuzu trucks, Massey Ferguson Tractors, Caterpillar grader/ TLB and motorcycles.
- Exhibit Leadership skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong personal integrity and dependability.
- Ability to be organized, flexible, self-motivated and work effectively with minimum supervision.
- Must have knowledge in Auto-electrics.
- Ability to work long hours in very remote and physically demanding circumstances
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 5 years’ experience
- Diploma in Motor Vehicle Engineering. (City and Guilds Certification)
- Grade 1 Trade Test in Motor Vehicle with 10 years’ experience.
- Must have a valid driver’s license
