Position: Projects Officer – Digital Transformation
Utande Malawi is undergoing an evolution to improve how we serve our clients/stakeholders. We are looking for an enthusiastic, organized, and forward-thinking Projects Officer – Digital Transformation to join our Digital, Systems and Insights team. This is an exciting opportunity to support the implementation of new technologies and systems, helping drive efficiency, innovation, and digital adoption across the organization.
The Role
The Projects Officer will play a critical role in facilitating collaboration between business and technology stakeholders to ensure the smooth running of digital processes. You will support the planning, tracking, and execution of digital projects, from streamlining digital products and data platforms to automating workflows and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Coordination: Support the end-to-end delivery of digital initiatives, ensuring projects are on time and within scope.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a bridge between technical teams and business units to ensure digital solutions meet operational needs.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to automate workflows and improve operational efficiency through technology.
- Reporting & Analytics: Track and analyze key performance metrics, drafting reports and dashboards to report on progress.
- Training & Adoption: Support staff adoption of new tools and systems through training and capacity building.
- Data Protection & Security: Ensure “data protection by design” is implemented in all new digital tools.
- Resource Management: Coordinating with external consultants, database managers, and developers to streamline digital products.
- Experience: Previous experience in project management, particularly with IT or digital initiatives.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with digital productivity tools, data management tools, or project management software (e.g., ADO, MS Planner, Jira).
- Woo-commerce website development: The ability to integrate payment gateway. SEO strategies improvement and security.
- Digital Literacy: Strong understanding of digital tools, AI fundamentals, and process automation.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to engage diverse stakeholders. - Technical Literacy: Familiarity with data analytics, AI, cloud architecture, and cybersecurity principles.
- Project Methodologies: Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid delivery frameworks.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or a related field.
- Bonus: Oracle, Linux, Word press, python, Figma, Firebase, Git and development management tools.
- Experience: 2–4 years of progressively responsible experience in project management or digital transformation.
