VACANCY

Lilongwe Handling Company Limited (LIHACO) is a wholly Malawi Government owned commercial entity established in 2000. The core business of the company is to provide to provide passenger, ramp and cargo handling services to national and international airlines, travel & tour and lounge services to passengers traveling in and out of Malawi Airports. The Company is inviting applications from suitably qualified internal candidates to fill the following vacant positions at Tiyende Lounge, Kamuzu International Airport.

Responsible to        : Lounge Services Officer

Responsible for       : None

Main Duties  

  • Assisting passengers with lounge access procedures and membership verification.
  • Providing excellent customer service and ensuring passenger comfort at all times.
  • Preparing and replenishing food and beverage items in the lounge area.
  • Monitoring lounge facilities and reporting maintenance or safety issues promptly.
  • Handling customer complaints or concerns professionally and escalating where necessary.
  • Supporting boarding announcements and coordinating with airport staff when required.
  • Maintaining stock levels of refreshments, supplies, and lounge materials.
  • Clearing tables and arranging seating areas to maintain a welcoming environment.
  • Observing health, safety, and hygiene standards in all service areas.
  • Assisting elderly, disabled, or special-needs passengers where necessary.
  • Processing payments and maintaining accurate records where applicable.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, aviation regulations, and customer service standards.
  • Assisting with lounge opening and closing procedures.
  • Promoting lounge services and informing customers about available facilities and amenities.
  • Working collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations.

Education Qualification

Minimum of a Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism from a NCHE accredited institution. A Bachelor’s degree will be an added advantage.

Work Experience

Two years’ experience in the Hospitality Industry or an Airport set up.
