Irish Rule of Law International (IRLI)
Irish Rule of Law International (IRLI) is recruiting for two roles supporting justice sector strengthening and human rights protection in Malawi.
IRLI is a civil society organisation supported by both branches of the legal profession across the island of Ireland. We work to strengthen justice systems that uphold human rights, accountability, and access to justice across multiple jurisdictions, including Malawi, Tanzania, and Zambia.
Malawi is IRLI’s longest-running programme country, where we have built trusted relationships with justice sector institutions and actors, working alongside them in support of locally driven and sustainable reform.
We are currently seeking candidates for the following full-time positions:
1. Country Director, Malawi | €55,500 – €60,000 plus benefits
An experienced and dynamic leader to provide strategic, operational, financial, and people leadership for IRLI’s Malawi programme. The successful candidate will lead programme delivery, manage key stakeholder relationships, support organisational growth, and represent IRLI across the justice, governance, and human rights sectors.
2. IRLI Programme Lawyer (Judiciary), Malawi | €40,000 – €45,000 plus benefits
Working closely with the Malawi Judiciary under a longstanding partnership framework, this role provides technical support in areas including judicial capacity strengthening, coordination, training initiatives, court user committee engagement, and institutional development.
Both roles offer the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to justice sector strengthening and human rights protection in partnership with local institutions and communities.
IRLI’s work is grounded in partnership, participation, humility, integrity, compassion, and justice. We welcome applications from suitably qualified candidates of all backgrounds, experiences, and identities, and are committed to fostering an inclusive working environment grounded in dignity and respect.
