Position: Communications Officer (Intern)
Social Media Graphic Design
Location: Lilongwe Office
Reports to: MEAL Coordinator
Full/Part Time: Full-time (40 hours per week)
Fixed Term/Casual: Short term – 6 months (with possible extension)
The Gender and Justice Unit (GJU) is looking for a creative and motivated Communications Officer Intern to support our communications, social media, and visual storytelling work.

This internship opportunity is open to individuals passionate about graphic design, digital communications, and social media management who are eager to gain practical experience.
About the Role: The intern will support the Communications function by:
- Designing reports, posters, flyers, and other IEC materials
- Creating and scheduling content for GJU social media platforms
- Developing visual content including graphics, infographics, and short videos
- Supporting updates and content uploads on the GJU website
- Assisting with branding and visibility materials for campaigns and events
- Supporting digital storytelling and documentation of GJU programmes
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Degree or diploma in Communications, Graphic Design, Media, Marketing, Journalism, or related field
• Strong skills in graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Suite, or similar)
• Knowledge of social media platforms and digital content creation
• Website content management skills are an added advantage
• Strong creativity, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
