Word Alive Ministries International, a growing Church that is involved in holistically proclaiming the Gospel, through thematic commissions of Assemblies and Missions, Relief and Development, Christian Education Governance, Peace & Justice, invites applications from suitably qualified, experienced persons and with passion and a sense of calling to work within the church to fill the following vacant position:
Title of Post: Assistant Teacher (2)
Grade: MM4
Location: Blantyre
Qualification & Skills:
- A minimum of a Diploma in Education or any related field Proven
- Experience as an Assistant teacher in an elementary classroom is an added advantage
- Registered with the Teachers Council of Malawi (TCM)
- Basic understanding of Childhood development and classroom management
- Basic knowledge of first aid and child safety practices for children
- Knowledge in Early Childhood Development
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Responsibilities
- Assist in implementation of curriculum as student needs dictate
- Assist in preparation and maintenance of all units of study
- Provide support to Teacher in preparing teaching and learning materia’s
- Observe and report leaner’s progress and behavioral concerns to the Teacher
- Assist in maintaining classrooms in accordance to the school guidelines
- Support implementation of Child protection and welfare policies in managing learner behavior and maintain discipline
- Establish a harmonicus relationship with other staff on campus
- Participate in school meetings, trainings and development activities
- Maintain cleanliness, safety and organization of the classroom
Personal Attributes
- A crime free record and experience of working closely with children
- Have the physical capacity to work with primary school children
- Demonstrated courtesy, respect, compassion, patience and positive attitude with children
- Excellent supervisory skills, personal maturity, sensitivity to gender and cultural issues and ability to relate to people of all levels
- Computer literate
- Reasonable understanding of working in Church and FBO environment
- Team Player
- Self-motivated and willing to learn
- Dedicated Christian of sound standing in their local church
- A personal sense of God’s call to work within a church Must not be less than twenty five (25) years of age
