Unitrans Malawi Limited, a prominent employer in the sugar and agriculture sector wants to recruit a suitably qualified person of Malawian origin to fill the above posts which have fallen vacant at its Dwangwa Depot in Nkhota-kota.
AIR-CON AND REFRIGERATION MECHANIC
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Workshop Manager, the success Applicant will be responsible for: –
- Inspect and diagnose problems in vehicle and offices air conditioning systems;
- Perform regular maintenance and repairs on air-con systems;
- Instal new air conditioning systems to both company offices and vehicles.
- Use hand and power tools to instal, repair and maintain refrigeration systems.
- Keep up to date with new technology and advancement in the air conditioning and refrigeration industry.
- Comply and Maintain safety and health requirements at all times.
Minimum Requirements
- Must have a minimum of Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE)
- Grade 1 National Trade Test Certificate in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration or its equivalent. Completion of refrigeration mechanic apprenticeship program or equivalent experience also required.
- Must be proficient in diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills
- Excellent trouble shooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of team.
- Minimum of three years hands on experience in a similar position in a busy organization.
- Must have knowledge of agricultural and vehicle air con systems and be able to diagnose electrical faults and make necessary repairs
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in shifts and with little supervision.
