Lilongwe Pentecostal Church Christian School (LPCCS) is a well-established school, registered with the Government of Malawi and licensed by the Ministry of Education. LPCCS follows the Government calendar and is compliant with the Education Curriculum issued by the Malawi Institute of Education enforced by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. LPCCS is founded on Christian Faith and equally accepts learners from other faith backgrounds. LPCCS is looking for suitable persons to fill the following positions:
JOB TITLE: LIBRARIAN
SECTION: LIBRARY
WORK STATION: LILONGWE
QualificationsÂ
- Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) with at least 5 credits including English;
- MALA or Certificate in Library and Information Science obtained from a reputable and accredited institution;
- Those with a Diploma will have an added advantage.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Good knowledge of integrated library system;
- Passion to serve learners;
- Must have worked in a busy academic library for at least 3 years;
- Computer literacy.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Selecting books and other information resources;
- Shelving library resources;
- Attending to library user reference queries;
- Furnishing the office with information on the requirements of the library from time to time;
- Assisting in the orientation of new and old users;
- Issuing and discharging books and other library materials;
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
