MACADAMIA FARM MANAGER (reference 2026/macs/001)
Gala Agriculture Company Ltd, one of the country’s leading macadamia operations at various estates in the area of Lilongwe, is looking to recruit experienced, highly dynamic, motivated and skilled individuals as Macadamia Farm Manager.
Position Summary
The Macadamia Farm Manager will be responsible for managing and overlooking the macadamia operations on certain estates and will be reporting to the Operations Manager. The candidate will be based on the allocated estate but should be prepared to be relocated to other estates within Gala Agriculture Company Limited as required.
Duties and Responsibilities
- General supervision of the estate, within the area of responsibility includes all stages of the macadamia cycle from planting, harvesting, water resource management, chemical and fertilizer applications.
- Manage all relevant admin procedures as required and ensure that Farm Management adheres to the prescribed systems and procedures.
- Responsible for Orchard Maintenance including disease, pests and weed management
Responsible for the planning, coordination, implementation and management of the operational programs and procedures as set and in line with Company standards. - Responsible for necessary industry audits and compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations and policies.
Required Education and Experience
- MSCE, Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture
- At least five years of Macadamia Production Experience
- Other Agricultural experience
- Experience in managing farm employees and general management
Required Skills and Attributes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Preparation of Reports and record keeping
- Environmental, occupational health and safety regulations and policies.
- To mentor and train all relevant employees / to establish and maintain productivity standards, best farming practices and processes.
