Risk and Compliance Officer

Reporting to the Risk and Compliance Manager, the Risk and Compliance Officer shall be responsible for supporting the Risk and Compliance function by implementing AML/CFT controls, monitoring regulatory compliance, conducting risk assessments, and supporting reporting obligations in line with applicable laws and internal policies.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Monitor compliance with AML/CFT/CPF laws, directives, and internal policies across customers, agents, mer-chants, and staff.
  • Conduct customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD), and ongoing monitoring to ensure KYC accuracy and completeness.
  • Review transaction monitoring alerts, investigate suspicious activities, and support escalation for Suspicious Transaction Reporting (STR).
  • Support ML/TF risk assessments and implement risk-based mitigation measures for products, services, and chan-nels.
  • Perform sanctions screening and maintain compliance registers.
  • Support regulatory reporting to relevant authorities such as FIA and RBM.
  • Assist with internal and external audits and regulatory inspections.
  • Support compliance training and awareness initiatives.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and ensure timely implementation of changes.

Educational and Professional Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Law, Finance, or a related field.
  • Possession of a certification in compliance (ACAMS) will be an added advantage.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in risk, compliance, or related roles.
  • Strongknowledge of AML/CFT regulations, KYC, and data protection.
  • Analytical and investigative skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High ethical standards, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and meet regulatory deadlines.
  • Basic understanding of mobile money operations and digital financial services.
