Malawi Defence Force (MDF)

RECRUITMENT EXERCISE

1. The Malawi Defence Force (MDF) will conduct a recruitment exercise for suitably qualified Malawian young men and women wishing to pursue a career in the MDF as regular soldiers.

2. The exercise shall be conducted in four (4) regions: (Northern, Central, Southern and Eastern). Successful candidates shall undergo an intensive six (6) months Military training at Malawi Armed Forces College (MAFCO) in Salima.

3. The following are the requirements:

  • Must be a Malawian citizen with a valid National Identity Card (ID).
  • Must have a Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE).
  • Must be physically, mentally and medically fit.
  • Must have no criminal record.
  • Must have not served in any National Security Organisation.
  • Must be between 18 and 24 years of age.
  • Must be not less than 165 cm tall for men and 158 cm tall for women.
  • Must be single and without dependants or child support legal obligations.
  • Must be prepared to undergo comprehensive physical and medical examinations.

4. Interested candidates should send their applications in own handwriting with copies of academic certificate, curriculum vitae (CV) and National ID to the address nearest to the Applicants’ District of origin by post as follows:

5. Deadline for receiving applications is on 15th December, 2024. Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews.

Note : District of origin must be indicated on the envelope.

The MDF does not engage third parties in its recruitment process and does not charge any fee on applicants.

UPDATE ON ADDRESS FOR SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION

LETTERS FOR REGULAR SOLDIER RECRUITMENT

The Malawi Defence Force (MDF) wishes to Inform all applicants and stakeholders of an important update «egarding the ongoing recruitment of regular soldiers. Due to an overwhelming number of applications received at our initial addresses, the MDF has decided to change the address to which application letters should be sent, effective from 1st December, 2024. This change is to ensure that recruitment centres have ample time to sort and process all applications effectively. Therefore. all applications from 1st to 15th December, 2024 should be sent to the address below:
