RECRUITMENT OF HEALTH CARE WORKERS

The Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the Ministry of Local Government, Government Health Service Commission and Local Government Service Commission, wishes to inform the general public that the Government of Malawi, is recruiting health care workers by conducting walk-in interviews for the under listed cadres as follows: –

2Dental Surgeon (Grade H/M5)Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Surgery plus completion of Internship Programme and must be registered with the Medical Council of Malawi.
3Senior Biomedical Engineer (Grade H/M5)Candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in either Biomedical Engineering or Medical Engineering or Bio-Engineering or Clinical Engineering and must be registered with the Medical Council of Malawi.
4Clinical Officer (Grade I/M6)Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Medicine or Mental Health or Paediatric and Child Health or General Surgery or Internal Medicine or Orthopedics & Neurosurgery or General Surgery or Palliative Care or Anaesthesia and Intensive Care or Dermatology or Obstetrics and Gynaecology or Ophthalmic plus completion of Internship Programme. Must be registered with the Medical Council of Malawi.
5Pharmacist (Grade I/M6)Candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and must be registered with Pharmacy plus completion of internship Programme and must be registered with the Pharmacies and Medicines Regulatory Authority.
6Dental Laboratory Technologist (Grade I/M6)Candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Dental Technology and must be registered with the Medical Council of Malawi.
7Medical Physicist (Grade I/M6)Candidates must have a Bachelor of Science majoring Physics or Biomedical Engineering and must be registered with the Medical Council of Malawi.
8Radiotherapy Technologist (Grade I/M6)Candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Radiotherapy and must be registered with the Medical Council of Malawi.
9Nuclear Medicine Technologist (Grade I/M6)Candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Medicine and must be registered with the Medical Council of Malawi.
10Prosthetics and Orthotics Technologist (Grade I/M6)Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Prosthetics & Orthotics and must be registered with the Medical Council of Malawi.
11Physiotherapist (Grade ICandidates must have Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy plus completion of internship Programme and must be registered with the Medical Council of Malawi.
12Rehabilitation Officer (Grade I/M6)Candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy or Speech and Language Therapy and must be registered with the Medical Council of Malawi

14Optometrist (Grade I/M6)Candidates must have Bachelor of Science in Optometry plus completion of Internship Programme and must be registered with the Medical Council of Malawi.
15Laboratory Technologist (Grade I/M6)Candidates must have Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology or Biomedical Sciences and must be registered with the Medical Council of Malawi.
16Nursing Officer (Grade I/M6)Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Midwifery or Nursing & Midwifery or Child Health Nursing or Adult Health Nursing or Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing or Ophthalmic Nursing or Critical Care Nursing or Nursing and Midwifery Education or Nursing services Management. Must be registered with the Nurses and Midwives council of Malawi.
17Community Health Nursing Officer
(Grade I/M6)
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Community Health Nursing.

Must be registered with the Nurses and Midwives council of Malawi.

18Environmental Health Officer (Grade I/M6)Candidates must have a Bachelor Science in Environmental Health or

Diploma in Environmental Health plus a Bachelor of Science in Public Health obtained from accredited Institution and must be registered with Medical Council of Malawi and Malawi Environmenta

Health Association (MEHA)

19Health Promotion Officer (Grade I/M6)Candidates must have a Bachelor Science in Public Health or Health Promotion or Health Communication or Environmental Health obtained from accredited Institution and must be registered with the Medical Council of Malawi.
20Nutrition Officer (Grade I/M6)Candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition & Food Science or Food Science and Technology.
21Clinical Technician (Grade K/M8)Candidates must have a Diploma in Clinical Medicine or Clinical Ear Nose & Throat, or Audiology or Clinical Anaesthesia or orthopedics or Dermatology or Ophthalmology or Optometry from accredited institution plus completion of Internship Programme. Must be registered with the Medical Council of Malawi.
22Nurse Midwife Technician (Grade K/M8)Candidates must have a College Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery Technician or University Diploma in Nursing or University Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery from Recognised Institutions and be registered with the Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi.
23Community Health Nurse (Grade K/M8)Candidates must have a Diploma in Community Health Nursing Technician from Recognised Institutions and must be registered with the Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi. Those with College Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery Technician but willing to work in a community setting will be considered.
24Assistant Environmental Health Officer (Grade K/M8)Candidates must have a Diploma in Environmental Health from accredited Institutions and must be registered with the Medical Council of Malawi and the Malawi Environmental Health Association (MEHA).
25Laboratory Tech. (Grade K/M8)Candidates must have a Diploma in Biomedical Sciences from accredited Institutions and must be registered with the Medical Council of Malawi.
26Rehabilitation Technician (Grade K/M8)Candidates must have a Diploma in Medical Rehabilitation or Occupational Therapy or Prosthetics & Orthotics from accredited Institutions and must be registered with the Medical Council of Malawi.
27Radiography Technician (Grade K/M8)Candidates must have a Diploma in Radiography from accredited Institutions and must be registered with Medical Council of Malawi.
28Biomedical Technician (Grade K/M8)Candidates must have a Diploma in Biomedical Engineering from accredited Institutions and must be registered with Medical Council of Malawi.
29Pharmacy Technician (Grade K/M8)Candidates must have a Diploma in Pharmacy from accredited Institutions and must be registered with the Pharmacies and Medicines Regulatory Authority.
30Assistant Nutrition Officer (Grade K/M8)Candidates must have a Diploma in Nutrition or Food Science and Technology.
31Laundry Supervisor (Grade K/M8Candidates serving Senior Laundry Assistant (Grade L) with a minimum of Four (4) experience at that grade.
32Medical Assistant (Grade M9)Candidates must have a Certificate in Clinical Medicine from accredited

Institutions and must be registered with Medical Council of Malawi.

33Pharmacy Assistant (Grade M9)Candidates must have a Certificate in Pharmacy from accredited Institutions and must be registered with the Pharmacies and Medicines Regulatory authority.
34Community Midwife Assistant (Grade M9)Candidates must have a Certificate in Community Midwifery obtained from accredited Institutions and must be registered with Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi.

Candidates who are in possession of the above stipulated qualifications obtained from accredited/recognized training institutions are invited to attend the interviews at the nearest venue.

The candidates will be required to bring their original and photocopies of the academic and professional certificates, valid practising licence National Identification Cards, pencils and ball pens. No cell phones and similar gadgets will be allowed in the examination room. Anyone found with such material will face automatic disqualification.

NOTE: In the spirit of universal health coverage, prospective candidates that are not prepared to work in the rural areas need not attend these interviews and successful candidates that will resist the deployment to rural areas will be deemed to be no longer interested for appointment and will be replaced immediately.
