In Malawi, MSF collaborates closely with the Ministry of Health and the local community, particularly in the Cervical Cancer project in the Blantyre and Chiradzulu districts, as well as the CBO Project in Zalewa and Dedza District.

MSF-FRANCE is recruiting suitable candidates for the position of:

Supervisors of Interviewers for a health survey on household level in Blantyre city and Chiradzulu districts

Workplace                   : Blantyre and Chiradzulu

Type of contract         : Fixed term contract (6-8 weeks)

Start date                     : June 2025

Responsibilities 

  • To assist the principal investigator in all organizational and implementation aspects of the survey activities
  • Works closely with the principal investigator in maintaining good management of the survey interviewers and activities
  • Train the survey interviewers prior to the survey together with the principal investigator
  • Ensures that the study daily activities adhere to its objectives
  • Explain the purpose of interviews and answer questions as needed
  • Organize and supervise the survey interviewers in terms of:
  • Planning and organizing the conscientious execution of the health-related interviews (i.e. responsible for all equipment related to the survey)
  • Monitoring the accurate recording of survey results
  • Guaranteeing the performance of all tasks according to the study protocol
  • Updating on any pragmatic issues to carry out the interviews
  • Assume other duties necessary for a successful implementation of the planned survey as per instructions of the principal investigator.

Requirements

Education Degree in Health Promotion, Education, Social Work, Public Health, Sociology, Anthropology, or related Fields
Experience
  • Experienced in the management of survey teams
  • Experienced in conducting health-related interviews at household level
  • Experienced in community involvement activities and/or health promotion
  • Experience in field research activities is an asset
  • Work experience with NGOs in the health sector; MSF experience is an asset

 

Skills
  • Experienced in the use of computer tablets is a must
  • Available for the entire time of the survey (training and interview days)
  • Willing and able to work on Saturdays and Sundays during the survey time if necessary
  • Experienced in the use of using GPS devices is an asset
  • Planning & monitoring skills, people management and team work
  • Self-initiative, pro-activity, flexibility, self-motivation to participate in the survey
  • Openness and not biased in expectations of the outcome of the survey
Languanges Able to speak and write Chichewa and English
