SITE SUPERVISION TEAM — ROAD UPGRADING, REHABILITATION & RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT
CONTRACT PERIOD: 18 MONTHS
PJK&Partners Consulting Ltd is one of the leading engineering consulting firms in Malawi, with a strong track record in the supervision of major road infrastructure projects. The firm is currently providing consultancy services for the supervision of the upgrading, rehabilitation and reconstruction of a road to bitumen standard with asphalt concrete surfacing, an assignment to be undertaken over a contract period of 18 months. To establish the site supervision team, PJK&Partners Consulting Ltd invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the following positions:

SOCIAL EXPERT
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor the Contractor’s implementation of the social provisions of the Environmental and Social Management Plan.
- Ensure HIV and AIDS awareness programmes are implemented and monitored as required by the contract.
- Monitor social and safety compliance and report findings in the Monthly Progress Report.
- Liaise with affected communities and local authorities on social matters arising from the works.
- Promote compliance with social safeguarding requirements on site.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum qualification of a Degree in Social Development Studies or any equivalent relevant qualification.
- Documented experience in the implementation and monitoring of social and safety management requirements on at least three (3) road construction projects of similar nature.
- Candidates with five (5) years or more of relevant experience in social safeguard implementation will have an added advantage.
