Success Civil and Automobile Engineering is a fast-growing car hire and civil engineering solutions company based in Malawi, committed to delivering reliable vehicle hire services and civil engineering solutions. SUCCESS Automobile Car Hire is a division of Success Civil and Automobile Engineering specialising in car hire services, car hire with a driver services, or driver services alone. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Officer – Panel Beating to join our team.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior Car Hire Officer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and coordinate all panel beating and spray-painting operations.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles before and after repairs to ensure high-quality workmanship and safety standards.
  • Execute repair jobs with a focus on productivity and adherence to company standards.
  • Procure spare parts, paint, and other repair materials by following office procurement procedures.
  • Maintain accurate repair records and prepare reports on workshop performance.
  • Implement safety and operational procedures in line with company policy.
  • Work closely with the fleet maintenance team to effectively schedule and prioritize repair jobs.
  • Conduct fleet management duties.
  • Carry out car handover procedures with customers.
  • Liaise with the Operations Officer – Mechanic to ensure that mechanical and panel beating work is well coordinated and synergized.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and periodically report on customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Perform car delivery/collection services to/from customers.
  • Drive customers to places within and outside Blantyre as required.
  • Perform any other duties as may be required from time to time.

Qualifications & Skills

  • A Certificate in Motor Vehicle Body Repair or a related field specializing in panel beating is required (a Diploma will be an added advantage).
  • Individuals who are specialists in panel beating with mechanical expertise will have an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in panel beating and spray painting.
  • Demonstrated excellence in leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license.

Working Hours

This position will involve a dual shift arrangement as follows:

  • Office operational duties: Night shifts
  • Panel beating and spray-painting related duties: Day shifts
