Success Civil and Automobile Engineering is a fast-growing car hire and civil engineering solutions company based in Malawi, committed to delivering reliable vehicle hire services and civil engineering solutions. SUCCESS Automobile Car Hire is a division of Success Civil and Automobile Engineering specialising in car hire services, car hire with a driver services, or driver services alone. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Officer – Mechanic to join our team.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior Car Hire Officer.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and coordinate all vehicle mechanical repair and maintenance operations.
• Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles before and after repairs to ensure safety, reliability, and high-quality workmanship standards.
• Execute mechanical repair jobs with a focus on productivity and adherence to company standards.
• Diagnose vehicle faults and determine appropriate repair solutions.
• Procure spare parts, tools, and other maintenance materials in line with office procurement procedures.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records and prepare workshop performance reports.
• Implement safety and operational procedures in accordance with company policy.
• Work closely with the fleet maintenance team to schedule and prioritize repair and servicing of vehicles.
• Conduct fleet management duties.
• Carry out vehicle handover procedures with customers.
• Liaise with the Operations Officer – Panel Beating to ensure coordination between mechanical and body repair work.
• Ensure customer satisfaction and periodically report on customer satisfaction metrics.
• Perform car delivery and collection services to/from customers.
• Drive customers to destinations within and outside Blantyre as required.
• Perform any other duties as may be required from time to time.

Qualifications & Skills

• A Diploma in Motor Vehicle Mechanics or a related field is required.
• Those with a Certificate in Motor Vehicle Mechanics may also apply.
• Individuals with strong mechanical expertise and basic panel beating knowledge will have an added advantage.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in motor vehicle mechanics and repairs.
• Strong diagnostic, technical, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license.

Working Hours

This position is a day shift position for both office operational duties and mechanical repair and maintenance duties.
