The Global Health Informatics Institute (GHII) is a non-profit organization working at the intersection of science, engineering, and global health to address problems of global health importance through the development of local solutions and capacity (https://www.ghii.org). We are looking for suitably qualified, passionate, hardworking, and enthusiastic individuals to fill the position of Human Resource Officer.
Position: Human Resource Officer (Grade 10)
Purpose: The Human Resource Officer is responsible for implementing systems and processes to support GHII’s staffing needs. This includes developing and updating HR policies, overseeing recruitment and employee performance management, ensuring legal compliance, and supporting professional development. The HR Officer will work closely with project leadership and administrative teams to forecast HR needs and ensure efficient staff management across the organization.
Summary of Responsibilities
- Facilitating the recruitment process for new staff Managing employee documentation and welfare
- Managing aspects of HR processes for the company.
- Overseeing employee development and performance management Documenting and reporting on organization human resources.
- Ensuring compliance with local labor regulations
- Collaborating with management to introduce, maintain or improve organizational culture
- Ensuring staff compliance with organization policies
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Administration or Human Resource Management.
- At least 3 years of working experience, preferably on donor-funded projects.
- Fluency in both spoken and written English and Chichewa.
- Personal Attributes and Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Integrity, discretion, and ability to handle confidential information.
- Sound knowledge of Malawi labor laws and HR best practices.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
Remuneration: A maximum gross pay of MWK 18,417,035.76 per annum.
