FINANCE MANAGER (NF3)- FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING
The position is tenable at NEEF Headquarters.
Reporting to the Director of Finance
Job Purpose
To support management of financial accounting operations, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations, and providing accurate and timely financial reports to aid decision-making.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Establishing and implementing financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Overseeing cash management processes, including cash flow forecasting, bank reconciliations, and petty cash management to maintain optimal liquidity levels.
- Identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial risks to safeguard the organization’s assets and ensure financial stability.
- Communicating financial information effectively to stakeholders, including management, board members, and external parties.
- Conducting cost analysis to identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements while maintaining quality standards.
- Enforcing compliance with tax regulations and developing strategies for tax planning to optimize the organization’s tax position.
- Overseeing the implementation and maintenance of financial systems to enhance data accuracy and reporting capabilities.
- Overseeing the processing, preparation, and capturing of approved payment vouchers and journal entries within the accounting system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
- Developing strategic business plans based on thorough analysis of the Fund’s financial status and forecasts, aligning financial goals with overall business objectives.
- Preparing accurate financial statements in accordance with International Financial
- Reporting Standards (IFRS), ensuring timely reporting for stakeholders.
- Facilitating external and internal audits by providing necessary documentation and implementing audit findings to improve financial processes.
- Managing the budgeting process, including variance analysis, to ensure that departments remain within their allocated budgets while meeting organizational goals.
- Implementing cost control measures to improve efficiencies and reduce unnecessary expenses in the Fund.
- Preparing periodic reports
Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance obtained from NCHE recognised institution
- ACCA or CIMA qualification.
- 5 years work experience in financial accounting roles.
