In Malawi, MSF collaborates closely with the Ministry of Health and the local community, particularly in the Cervical Cancer project in the Blantyre and Chiradzulu districts, as well as the CBO Project in Zalewa and Dedza District.

MSFF is looking for its Blantyre Office: DATA ENTRY OPERATOR – 1 POSITION

Workplace             : Blantyre

Type of contract : 3 months Fixed term

Start date              : End July 2026

Main Purpose 

Carry out all activities related to entry of medical data into the mission database, according to MSF protocols and maintain confidentiality, to have reliable and up to date information.

This position is responsible for identifying and compiling data for retrospective entry into multiple project information systems, including Bahmni, DHIS, and Excel-based databases. The role supports the cervical cancer (CC) project across its various components, including external outreach, decentralized ser-vice delivery, and hospital-based activities.

Main Responsibilities

  • Enter medical data (e.g. patient data, dates of visit, content of prescription, viral load, etc.) in mission’s database on a regular basis and according to MSF protocols.
  • Participate in compilation of data both from MSF structures and from collaborating health facilities.
  • Participate in the search for missing data.
  • Update files of existing patients and make any corrections needed.
  • Make regular back-ups of all data processed.
  • Look after all equipment provided and keep recording area clean and tidy, giving special importance to all patient files.
  • Report any issue concerning data management to superior
  • Elaborate statistical reports when required by the medical team.
  • Ensure, promote and maintain confidentiality regarding all information registered.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with different departments across the CC project to identify data that should be entered into the routine data system.
  • When requested support colleagues in enter the data into routine data system in line with identified protocols.
  • Regularly coordinate with the manager and other colleagues, to ensure that abnormalities are addressed.

Requirements

Education
  • At least a certificate in Data management
Experience
  • Experience in medical data management is desirable, especially related to cancer Previous experience in other NGO’s
  • Demonstrable experience in supervising and training others in a team setting
Knowledge
  • Able to learn and use software used for recording (i.e. Fuchia, EpiInfo, etc.)
  • Essential computer literacy (word, excel)
Language 
  • Fluency in English and Chichewa
Competencies
