Job Title: Biomedical Engineering Intern

Reporting to:  Biomedical engineering team supervisor

Location: Global Health Informatics Training Center, Area 3 – Lilongwe, Malawi

Expected start date: 26th May 2026

Duration: 6 months

Program: Uptime Alliance (formerly Oxygen Alliance)

Position overview:

We are looking for a Biomedical engineering intern to support technical content creation, and digital platform management while gaining hands-on experience in biomedical engineering.

Brief overview of Uptime Alliance (Formerly Oxygen Alliance):

Uptime Alliance exists to make sure that every medical equipment stays functional. We work on three strategic pillars that are to advocate, educate and innovate to make sure that we achieve our goal of having empowered biomedical engineers and functional equipment nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support during maintenance video shoots, webinars, and script preparation (which includes conducting tests on medical devices in preparation of a training video)
  • Help upload and manage resources on the BME Konza platform.
  • Participate in user testing and provide feedback.
  • Monitor social media/comments and channel queries.

Qualifications & Skills

  1. Currently pending graduation or a recent graduate of a degree program in Biomedical Engineering (Not earlier than 2024).
  2. Interest in medical equipment and digital tools.
  3. Excellent public speaking and communication skills.
  4. Ability to learn quickly and adapt to dynamic tasks.
  5. Strong attention to details
