SEASONAL REDRYING & PACKING SUPERVISOR

Limbe Leaf Tobacco Company Limited is seeking a qualified, experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Seasonal Redrying & Packing Supervisor in Lilongwe.

Overall Job Function

Reporting to the Processing Shift Coordinator, the Seasonal Redrying & Packing Supervisor will be responsible for supervision of the redrying and packing operations while meeting the customer specified targets in a well presentable packaging through economic utilization of resources in the Central Region of Malawi.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for minimizing processing expenditure i.e. Labour & consumables usage
  • General processing supervision of Labour at the redrying and packaging areas.
  • Responsible for the equipment preseason inspections according to customer requirements
  • Responsible for optimization of processing efficiencies i.e. meeting optimizing lines for tolerable standard deviations, yield targets & NCP reduction to set targets
  • Administration including monitoring and reporting of daily establishment register :
  • Execution of Environmental Health, Safety & Quality programs and other safe working policies
  • Responsible for maintaining good machine status through proper setting of lines, reporting faults and following up on maintenance.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

The successful candidate should at least have the following qualifications and experience:

  • A minimum of a Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Mechanical or Electrical from a recognized institution.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a busy processing industry.
  • Highly self-motivated individual with a demonstrable ability to work under high pressure
  • Must be flexible and willing to work under demanding circumstances
  • Must have excellent communication, data analytical and supervisory skills
  • Able to work on shifts without supervision.
