LifeCo invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the position of Accountant. This is a key finance role responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, compliance with regulatory requirements, and effective management of the Group’s financial resources.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Accountant (will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and management accounting functions.

Key duties include:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Preparation of quarterly management reports and regulatory returns
  • Review of monthly general ledger reconciliations
  • Preparation of annual budgets, projections, and financial forecasts
  • Day-to-day oversight of the finance function
  • Monitoring and control of expenditure in line with approved budgets
  • Preparation of annual financial statements
  • Preparation and filing of all statutory tax returns
  • Ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), industry best practices, and regulatory requirements
  • Coordination of internal and external audits and implementation of audit recommendations

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Final stage student of ACCA, CIMA, or ICAM professional qualification
  • Qualified accountants will have an added advantage
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a supervisory or middle management finance role
  • Strong experience in management accounting, reporting, and financial controls
