VACANCY
Motor Vehicle Technician (3 positions – Blantyre)
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or equivalent
- Advanced TEVET Certificate in Automobile Mechanics
- Diploma in Motor Vehicle Mechanics (an added advantage)
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a busy motor vehicle workshop
- Ability to read and interpret repair manuals and wiring diagrams
- Proficiency in the use of diagnostic tools and equipment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer knowledge (mandatory)
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver quality service by effectively repairing and servicing customer vehicles according to service menus
- Conduct pre-delivery inspections on all new vehicles before handover
- Ensure “fix it right the first time” workmanship to minimize repeat jobs
- Accurately diagnose vehicle faults, identify required parts, and ensure proper fitment
- Take responsibility for personal performance by identifying training needs and participating in development programs
- Prepare and submit defect reports to Foremen in a timely and accurate manner
- Address customer complaints promptly to ensure maximum satisfaction
- Properly manage technical tools and equipment to prevent accidents and wastage
- Adhere to Toyota standards in handling customer vehicles and tools to avoid damages and losses
- Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times
