Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA)
The Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) is a statutory body established under the Communications Act, 1998 to regulate the provision of services in the communications sector in Malawi, comprising telecommunications, postal and broadcasting.
MACRA is inviting suitable persons to apply for the following vacant positions tenable at its Blantyre Head Office.
TECHNOLOGIES MANAGER
Purpose of the Job: To ensure the availability of regulatory monitoring tools for monitoring of deployed technologies and Standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establishing and controlling system access and security levels to regulatory compliance enforcement tools.
- Maintaining and managing a record of the status of all number ranges, codes and blocks of numbers comprising the national numbering plan in a central numbering database system.
- Establishing and implementing necessary strategies managing and implementing a robust, resilient, and secure network for the regulatory compliance tools.
- Verifying the business rules and validity of data being processed by the regulatory compliance enforcement tools platform.
- Facilitating compliance with international regulatory frameworks and standards
- Design and implement an effective program for manning the network operations Centre.
- Producing Reports such as regulatory compliance networks performance and activity reports.
- Advising the Deputy Director for Technologies and Standards on emerging technologies.
- Providing guidance to the team in the department to ensure effective performance
Qualifications and Experience
- Master of Science in any of the following: Electrical and Electronics Engineering, ICT, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering or relevant qualification in a related field
- 5 years’ professional experience within the telecommunications sector
- Membership to relevant professional body (ie. CompTIA, MEI, ICTAM)
