Job Description: Finance Intern

Job Title:             Finance Intern
Accountable to:    Finance and Administration Manager (FAM)
Location:             Lilongwe

JOB PURPOSE:

Working alongside a Finance Officer, and a Finance Assistant, the Finance Intern will support the finance team with day-to-day financial tasks while gaining practical experience in accounting and financial management. This role involves assisting with data entry, preparing financial reports, supporting budgeting and forecasting activities, and helping maintain accurate financial records. The intern may also assist with reconciliations, audits, and research on global market trends.

AREAS OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Assist in preparing financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
  • Support accounts payable and receivable processes
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate financial records
  • Help analyze financial data and identify trends or discrepancies
  • Assist with bank reconciliations and expense tracking
  • Participate in audits and compliance reviews
  • Prepare presentations and summaries for internal stakeholders
  • Research financial topics and global market trends, where required.
  • Assist in procurement processes

Other Responsibilities

  • Representing LCDM at external events and meetings as required
  • Any other duties as requested by both the Finance Officer and FAM or Management
