
Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB)
The Anti-Corruption Bureau was established by an Act of Parliament to receive and investigate complaints of alleged or suspected corrupt practices; to prosecute offences under the Corrupt Practices Act; to investigate and report on the conduct of any public officer which is connected or conducive to corrupt practices; to take necessary measures for the prevention of corruption in public and private bodies and to solicit public support in the fight against corruption. ACB is in the process of recruiting suitable persons to fill vacant posts as follows:
Job Title: Assistant Accountant (G9/K)
Grade: 9/K
Division: Corporate Services
Location: Lilongwe
Purpose of the Job
To manage, implement and process financial transactions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervising the preparation of payment vouchers.
- Supervising posting of transactions to books of accounts.
- Maintaining of books of accounts.
- Receiving and accounting for money under revenue.
- Custody and accounting for imprest.
- Disbursing of cash drawn as receipted voucher.
- Carrying out creditors reconciliation.
- Filling of paid vouchers.
- Preparation of monthly liquidation status report.
- Depositing of all cheques to various banks and making appropriate follow-ups.
- Custodian of fuel and fuel cards.
- Collection of cheques.
Attributes and competences
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities
- Computer literate
- The ability to manage time effectively in a high-pressure setting
- Detail-oriented personality
Qualifications and Experience
- Technician Diploma in Accounting obtained from a recognized institution.
- Two years working experience.
Details of the Posts are as follows:
- Employment will be on a three (3) year contract period, renewable depending on performance.
