Farming and Engineering Services Limited (FES), a leading supplier and operator of premium brand products including Massey Ferguson and Challenger tractors, Komatsu machinery, Trimble GPS equipment, and Baldan farm implements, invites applications for the position of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Officer at its Nchalo Branch.

Purpose of the Role:

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Officer will be responsible for the effective implementation of safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures in line with the National Occupational Safety and Health (NOSA) system and the Occupational Safety, Health and Welfare Act of Malawi.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and oversee the safety performance of the branch, including risk assessments, accident/ incident investigations, and incident trend analysis
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with internal and statutary standards :
  • Capture and analyze daily safety and fuel data
  • Identify training needs and conduct internal HSE training programs
  • Facilitate regular staff meetings to share safety best practices Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Ensure full compliance with safety standards by all staff.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent from a recognized institution
  • Additional certifications such as NEBOSH, SAMTRAC, or similar qualifications in HSE management
  • Minimum of five (5) years practical experience in a similar role; experience in agricultural operations is an added advantage
  • Familiarity with the NOSA five-star grading system
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
