Local Government Service Commission is inviting applications from suitably qualified Malawian candidates to fill the following vacant posts existing at Mwanza District Council
Post: Principal Education Officer
Grade: G/M4
Location : Mwanza District Council
Duties
- Coordination and controlling activities of the primary school administration section
- Monitoring the supply of teaching and learing materials throughout the assembly
- Ensuring implementation of all the government plans for education
- Providing feedback to planning directorate on success and failures of implementation of goverment plans for education
- Participation in the formulation of policy and operational mandates for the primary schools
- Scrutinizing all estimates submitted by primary schools and consolidating these for all primary schools in the assembly
- Studying trends in discipline cases in primary schools, making appropriate inferences and recommending solutions and changes in policy
- Preparing project proposals for both internal and extemal funding
- Preparing policy alternatives for consolidation by the assembly on the systematic and balanced development of primary schools
- Advising the Chief education officer on imbalances, shorfalls and needs in primary schools.
Qualifications
Applicants must be holders’ of a Degree in Education with a minimum experience of 6 years’ at Grade I/M6 or serving Officers at Grade H/M5 in the local authorities.
