Malawi National Council of Sports (MNCS)

Malawi National Council of Sports (MNCS) was established by an Act of Parliament, Act Number 10 of 1974, with mandate to develop, promote, encourage and control all forms of sport in Malawi. In order to fulfill its mandate, MNCS invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following vacant position:

REGIONAL SPORTS AND RECREATION DEVELOPMENT MANAGER (RE-ADVERTISED)

Grade : CS3

Reporting to : Director of Sports and Recreation Development

Position function: To manage and implement Council’s sports and recreation development programs

Main Duties;

  1. Providing leadership, guidance and direction in the planning, formulation and implementation of Council’s regional programs, strategies and annual budgets.
  2. Guiding and advising stakeholders and the public on sports policies and guidelines
  3. Facilitating and monitoring implementation of partnership/donor funded projects.
  4. Liaising with associations and committees on all matters pertaining to management and execution of sports and physical recreation training programs, competitions and festivals in the region.
  5. Managing Council’s resources and representing MNCS on matters requiring the Council in the region

Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees – at least one MUST be in Sports related discipline such as Sports Science/ Sports Management/Physical Education etc.
  • 6 years’ experience in sports administration/promotion.
  • ICT Skills
