THP-Malawi has been operating in Malawi since 1999 and is currently running programs and projects in the following districts: Blantyre, Chikwawa, Neno, Nsanje, Ntcheu, Phalombe and Salima
THP- Malawi is looking for qualified, experienced and motivated personnel with strong work ethics to fill the following vacancies.
Field Officers (3) – Fixed term -Ntcheu, Phalombe & Nsanje
Position summary
The main role of the position is to lead and facilitate project implementation activities in the project implementation area. The position reports to the Project Manager.
Essential Functions
- Facilitating implementation of food security, nutrition, natural resources management and microfinance project activities in one of the project districts of Phalombe, Nsanje and Ntcheu
- Ensuring disability issues are always mainstreamed in all project activities
- Mobilizing communities to implement various project activities in the participating villages
- Working with various structures at community level such as lead farmers, Village Natural Resources Management Committees (VNRMC’s)Village Social and Economic Associations (VESA) groups in making sure that project targets are achieved
- Mentoring and coaching VESA group members in different business enterprises
- Working with project committees and ensure that various project committees are established and working effectively
- Supporting and organizing activities of decentralized structures at district level such as the District Executive Committee, donor and other key project stakeholders during supervision visits to project sites.
Required Qualifications and competencies
- Must have a Bachelors Degree in Natural Resources Management, Agriculture, Nutrition or Community Development
- Must have at least 2 years’ experience working in a similar role in an NGO
- Should possess strong facilitation skills
- Should be self-motivated and willing to work with minimum supervision
- Excellent in verbal and written communication with strong report writing skill
- Able to ride a motorcycle and have arealid motorcycle riding license.
