Head Driver (2 positions)

Purpose

The successful candidates will play a key role in training drivers and ensuring continuous improvement in the drivers’ behavior on duty. The Head Driver will also coordinate allocation of drivers to various assignments as well as managing the welfare of drivers.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Site Manager, the Head Driver, will be required to carry out the following duties, among others:

  • Participates in the development of the deployment plan in liaison with the deployment team, for proper allocation of drivers for various assignments.
  • Ensures that checklists for all fleet in use are faithfully filled in by the drivers.
  • Trains drivers of the company on in-transit standards to ensure compliance to standard operating procedures, always.
  • Conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections on deployment trucks together with the assigned driver.
  • Conducts weekly PEP-Talk sessions with the drivers on the best driver behaviour and best driving practices.
  • Gives feedback to the assigned driver on how they perform on each assigned trip.
  • Manages drivers’ allowances and fees and all in-transit costs.
  • Manages drivers’ annual leave to ensure they compliant as defined in the policy.

Education & Experience

The ideal candidates should have, at least the following qualifications and experience:

  • Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or Diploma in Business Management
  • Code Cl Drivers’ License, as well as Defensive driving certificate and MSCE.
  • Must have driven MAN trucks for not less than 5 years, preferably in FMCC Industry.

  • A team player, who can lead and motivate a team
  • A self-starter with high self-esteem
  • Ability to analyze data from drivers’ trips and present to Logistics Management.
  • Basic vehicle mechanics knowledge.
  • Ability to pick out common vehicle defects for workshop maintenance.
  • Ability to vehicles machinery monitoring tools such as dashboards, tracking tables, KPIs.
  • Ability to design and implement drivers’ rosters.
  • Good communication skills.
