Msilikali SACCO (MSACCO) an affiliate of Malawi Union of Savings & Credit Cooperatives Ltd (MUSCCO), is a member owned and democratically controlled financial cooperative society that aims at providing quality and affordable financial services to its members; drawn from the Malawi Defence Force (MDF) and other Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

Therefore, Msilikali SACCO invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following posts tenable at its Head Office and branches in Mzuzu and Salima.

Member Education Officer (Head Office)
To lead financial education function and other training programs for our members and staff, with the aim of to supporting members to develop a strong foundation of SACCO business and financial knowledge and skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Develop annual member training calendar and undertake member training needs assessment
  2. Create financial education materials to remain relevant and engaging for diverse audiences.
  3. Support branch specific member education programs on products and service inclusive financial education sessions.
  4. Conduct member and community-focused financial education presentations virtually and in-person.
  5. Attend community events and shares information about MSACCO Financial Education offerings.
  6. Represent and promote MSACCO services in community, cultivation of potential partners as appropriate in collaboration with Business Development team.
  7. Understands MSACCO product and services. Accepts new member and loan applications as needed while in the community.
  8. Collaborates effectively with MSACCO management team in helping develop annual plans and be a strategic leader for enhancing Financial Education at MSACCO.
  9. Support and participate in new product development and implementation based on trends and needs of members and community.
  10. Support education and training development internally for MSACCO staff.
  11. Assist in identifying tools, referral resources and materials for members as it pertains to increasing and managing their wealth and create generational wealth for their families.

Minimum qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Minimum of Bsc degree in Business Administration, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, and/or related fields with numerate coursework.
  • 3 – 5 years working experience in financial industry Understanding of SACCO or Financial Cooperative business model
  • Facilitation and Presentation skill
  • Great interpersonal skills and customer service.
  • Quick decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong management skills; able to coach and motivate staff
  • Strong analytical skills, e.g. read and interpret financial information
  • Problem solving and Results oriented
