Traffic Management Officer

VACANCY ADVERT – TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT OFFICER

Unik Construction Engineering is looking for Traffic Management Officer for M1 Road Project,
Jenda who will be responsible for ensuring, safe and efficient flow of vehicles at construction sites
and roadworks. The duties will also include implementing traffic control plans supervising staff,
performing site inspections and responding to incidents in coordination with Traffic Police and
other authorities to manage traffic and maintain safe environment.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Experience in traffic rules and regulations in Malawi with relevant professional training and credentials
• Experience in preparation of traffic management plans
• Prepare, implement and manage the site Traffic Safety Management Plan (TSMP)
• Experience in conducting daily routine maintenance inspections and recording of all defects
• Good communication skills will all stakeholders
• Planning and facilitating regular Traffic training programs to the project staff as well to the project vicinity
• Experience in conduct risk assessments for all activities involving public or construction traffic interfaces
• Experience in conducting hazard identifications and risk assessment
• Experience in aim and motivates the flagmen to ensure the site Traffic Safety Management plan in place
• Experience in Evaluating and monitoring compliance of subcontractors to the project health and specifications
• Prepare and submit the weekly and monthly reports to Engineer

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• 10 years of Experience working in construction projects especially in funded/donor projects.
• Ability to apply logical and critical thinking skills to projects.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
