Temporary Sponsorship Assistant

Reporting to: Sponsorship Officer

Duration: 6 months

Location: Lilongwe

Role Overview: We are seeking a passionate, detail-oriented and proactive candidate to support the implementation of sponsorship and supporter communication activities at ActionAid Malawi (AAM). He / she will work closely with the Sponsorship Officer and Programmes team to support day-to-day operations, enhance sponsor communications, and contribute to the overall quality and effectiveness of the Sponsorship Program in alignment with AAM’s strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the collection, sorting, and quality checking of sponsor communications including child messages, photos, and profiles.
  • Support the input and update of data in the Sponsorship System (SK), including photo uploads and child message entries.
  • Facilitate timely preparation and dispatch of sponsor communications to Funding Affiliates.
  • Support documentation processes including filing of correspondences, child message reports, and case studies.
  • Participate in case study collection, drafting sponsorship stories, and updating sponsorship records for internal and external reporting.
  • Support logistical and administrative needs of the Sponsorship Unit such as training of community facilitators and LRP volunteers.
  • Assist in the organization and documentation of sponsorship-related meetings, training, and supporter visits.
  • Uphold ActionAid’s SHEA and Safeguarding policies and Feminist Leadership Principles in all tasks.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • Recent graduate in Development Studies, Communications, Social Sciences, Project Management, or related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Chichewa.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn new data systems.
  • Passion for social justice and working with children and vulnerable communities.
