Reports To: Church Administrator
JOB TYPE: One-year contract subject to renewal depending on performance
Kaning’a CCAP Church is inviting applications from passionate and skilled individuals to fill the positions of Bass Guitar Artist, Lead Guitar Artist, and Drummer. These artists will be integral members of the church’s music ministry, supporting worship and special programs through professional musical performance and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality performances (bass guitar, lead guitar, or drums) during worship services, rehearsals, and special church events.
- Work closely with the church band, vocalists, and other instrumentalists to ensure a cohesive musical experience.
- Attend and actively participate in scheduled rehearsals.
- Ensure proper care, tuning, and maintenance of personal and church-provided musical instruments and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with the Church Administrator, fellow musicians, and technical staff.
- Adapt to changes in performance schedules, musical arrangements, and event logistics.
Qualifications and Competencies
Formal Music Training: A certificate in music or demonstrated equivalent experience in instrumental performance.
Instrumental Proficiency:
- Bass Guitar Artist: Proficiency in rhythm and melodic bass lines across gospel, classical, and contemporary styles.
- Lead Guitar Artist: Proficiency in melodic leads, harmonization, and improvisation across various musical genres.
- Drummer: Proficiency in maintaining rhythm, timing, and dynamics across gospel, classical, and contemporary styles, with ability to support both congregational and band-led worship.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience performing in a band, worship team, or similar ensemble.
Collaboration: Strong ability to work as part of a team with other musicians and worship leaders.
Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Christian Character: Must demonstrate a committed Christian lifestyle, with a passion for worship and service through music.
