POST: DIRECTOR OF SOCIAL & COMMUNITY SERVICES
GRADE: E/M2
LOCATION: CHITIPA DISTRICT COUNCIL
SALARY: Within The Grade of E/M2 Salary Segment
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must be serving Chief Social and Community Services, Chief Youth officers, Chief Nutrition Officers, Chief Social Welfare Officers, Chief Gender Officers and Chief Elderly Services Grade F/M3 in Local Authorities and Public Service with a minimum service of Four (4) years’ experience at that post.
Duties of Post
- Coordinate the day-to-day activities of the directorate
- Developing and implementing programs to address social issues such as poverty, homelessness and mental health
- Supervising and managing staff including social workers and other professionals
- Collaborating with community organizations, government agencies and health providers to ensure coordinated services
- Managing budgets and allocating resources to achieve program goals
- Evaluating program effectiveness and making data-driven decisions to improve services
- Advocating for policies and funding that support social and community services
POST : DIRECTOR OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY
GRADE : E/M2
LOCATION: CHITIPA DISTRICT COUNCIL
SALARY: Within The Grade Of E/M2 Salary Segment
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must be serving Chief Trade Officer Grade F/M3 in Local Authorities and Public Service with a minimum service of Four (4) years’ experience at that post.
Duties of Post
- Plan, develop and implement commercial strategies based on council goals and objectives with the main goal of supporting growth
- Develop the council’s commercial institutional capacity by among other things developing policies in line with the council’s commercial undertakings
- Promote business investments in the district
- Provide leadership in the development and management of the council
- Develop and control the commercial department’s annual budget
- Devises initiative to improve and expand the council’s revenue base
- Establishes and manages long-term business relations with stakeholders
POST: DIRECTOR OF HEALTH SERVICES
GRADE: E/M2
LOCATION: CHITIPA DISTRICT COUNCIL
SALARY: Within The Grade Of E/M2 Salary Segment
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must be serving Chief Medical Officers, Chief Nursing Officers or Chief Preventive Health Officers Grade F/M3 in Local Authorities and Public Service with a minimum service of Four (4) years’ experience at that post.
Duties of Post
- Plan and coordinate day to day activities of the directorate
- Advise the Health Committee of the council and District Commissioner on all health services
- Control the use resources in the directorate
- Develop annual health services plans for the council
- Prepare estimated drugs and other necessary medical requirements for the council
- Ensure that health standards are upheld all the time
POST: DIRECTOR OF NATURAL RESOURCES AND ENVIRONMENT
GRADE: E/M2
LOCATION: CHITIPA DISTRICT COUNCIL
SALARY: Within The Grade Of E/M2 Salary Segment
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must be serving Chief Environmental Officer, Chief Forestry Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer Grade F/M3 in Local Authorities and Public Service with a minimum service of Four (4) years’ experience at that post.
Duties of Post
- Interpretation and enforcement of forest policy and law
- Promotion of tree planting and rehabilitation of degraded areas
- Coordination of forestry development activities with other stakeholders
- Planning, monitoring and control of financial resources
- Formulate project proposals
- Facilitating community-based assessment and mapping of forest resources
- Empowerment of communities in conservation and management of natural resources
POST: PRINCIPAL FORESTRY OFFICER
GRADE : : G/M4
LOCATION : CHITIPA DISTRICT COUNCIL
SALARY: Within The Grade Of G/M4 Salary Segment
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must be serving Forestry Officers – Grade I/M6 in Local Authorities with a minimum service of Four (4) years’ experience at that post.
Duties of Post
- Produce package and disseminate forestry extension related information to general public.
- Promote and publicize the role of FRIM, MCFW and Forestry Department
- Produce package and disseminate information on protection, management and development of plantations and forest reserves
- Planning, monitoring and control of financial resources
POST: PRINCIPAL AGRICULTURE OFFICER
GRADE: G/M4
LOCATION: CHITIPA DISTRICT COUNCIL
SALARY : Within The Grade Of G/M4 Salary Segment
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must be serving Agriculture Officers – Grade I/M6 in Local Authorities with a minimum service of Four (4) years’ experience at that post.
Duties of Post
- Develop strategies for the implementation of crop protection programs.
- Prepare annual work plans and budget
- Develop technical guidance on crop protection
- Organize and conduct training programs on crop protection
- Plan and conduct crop protection field/open days
- Plan and implement on – farm trials and demonstrations Undertake surveillance and control of pests and diseases
