Globe and Serendib Hotels & Resorts is looking for highly motivated and experienced managers to fill the position of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Specialist tenable at our corporate office in Limbe – Blantyre.
CSR SPECIALIST
As a CSR Manager, your objective will be to shape and implement the Group’s CSR strategy, ensuring we uphold our commitment to sustainability, community engagement, and ethical business practices. The job incumbent will also work towards improving our company’s social and ecological impact while aligning with our business goals.
The ideal candidate should be a dedicated professional with a passion for driving positive social and environmental impact through corporate initiatives. Among the many duties, the CSR Specialist shall be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing comprehensive CSR strategies that align with the company’s mission, values and business objectives.
- Design and execute CSR programs that address key social and environmental challenges while supporting business goals
- Managing and overseeing CSR programs and initiatives, including sustainability projects, community outreach and philanthropic activities.
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to identify and address social, environmental and ethical issues relevant to the business.
- Monitoring and evaluating the impact of CSR initiatives, providing regular reports and recommendations to senior management
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, standards and best practices in corporate social responsibility.
- Promoting awareness and engagement in CSR activities among employees and the broader community.
- Prepare and deliver reports, presentations and communications on CSR activities and achievements to internal and external audiences.
- Representing the company at CSR-related events, conferences and forums to enhance our reputation and build partnerships
- Coordinate volunteer opportunities and employee engagement initiatives to foster a culture of social responsibility
- Conduct research and stay informed about emerging trends, best practices and regulatory changes in CSR
- Manage budgets and resources allocated to CSR programs, ensuring efficient and effective use of funds
- Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to promote CSR initiatives and successes
- Organize SHR CSR programs and community events, encouraging links with health, educational, envirormental and chantable organizations
- Supporting SHR Group Businesses with required documentation for tender submissions
- Supporting corporate sustainability and regulatory targets
- Report any procedure or process that doesn’t meet the regulatory requirements including fraud, whether suspected or confirmed to management.
- Develop CSR reporting process, working with other departments to collect data across a full sustainability spectrum.
- Work closely with the HR team to support and develop documentation in relation to CSR.
- Perform other CSR related duties as assigned
Qualification and Experience
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Sustainability, or a related field.
- Certification in Corporate Social Responsibility or Sustainability.
- Demonstrable experience as a CSR Manager, Sustainability Manager, or similar role with 3-5 years in CSR or sustainability.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, excellent command of spoken and written English with experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders and relationship management.
- Logical and analytical thinking.
- High professional, integrity and ethical standards, ability to work individually and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of CSR principles, frameworks and best practices in the context of the Malawian and international corporate landscape.
Required Qualifications:
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability reporting standards.
- Familiarity with social impact measurement and evaluation tools.
- Experience in managing large-scale community projects.
- Experience in working with non-profit organizations or NGOs.
- Experience in data analysis and impact measurement.
