Position: Civil/Irrigation Engineer
A Civil Engineering Consulting Firm based in Blantyre but with assignments across Malawi and provides multi-disciplinary services in the following sectors:
- Irrigation Engineering
- Water Supply and Sanitation
- Structural Engineering
Is looking for placement of Irrigation Engineer for Irrigation Projects
Duties/Roles:
- Design and Construction: Designing and overseeing the construction of irrigation infrastructure like dams, reservoirs, canals, irrigation fields, pipelines, pump stations, etc. Feasibility Studies and Design Work for Irrigation Systems and Related Infrastructure components
- Project Management: Managing all aspects of irrigation related projects, including budgets, schedules, and quality control.
- Water Resource Management: Assessing water resources, developing management plans, and ensuring sustainable use of water for irrigation.
- Field Operations: Overseeing construction, implementation, and monitoring of projects in the field.
- Technical Support: Providing technical expertise and support to other team members or clients.
- Community Engagement: Engaging with communities to understand their needs and ensure project success.
- Reporting and Documentation: Preparing reports, technical documentation, and maintaining project records.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering/Irrigation Engineering
- Registrable with Malawi Engineering Institution (MEI)
- Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience in design and construction supervision;
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., for modeling or design), knowledge of relevant regulations, and experience with water
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and organizational skills
