National Short-Term Expert (NSTE)- technical support for the development of the TEVET teachers’ continuous professional development framework

The British Council, under the EU-funded Zantchito Skills for Jobs Project – Technical Assistance (TA) Component, invites expressions of interest from qualified and experienced National Short-Term Experts (NSTEs) to provide technical support for the development of the TEVET Teachers’ Continuous Professional Development Framework. This assignment contributes to the realization of Specific Objective 1 of the TA Project: Improved coordination of the national TEVET system to realize governance that supports the improved quality and inclusiveness of outcomes.

Role overview

The objective of the assignment is to collect information and review  stakeholder feedback that will be used in the review of the current TEVET teacher continuous professional development policies and practices in Malawi; and production of a framework for continuous professional development that will initiate policy dialogue, institutional strengthening, and capacity building. The expert will work in collaboration with the International Expert and will be based in Lilongwe with field travels as required by the assignment.

The work is expected to take 20 days, spread between 1 September 2025 and 30 November 2025. The expert shall be expected to contribute to the delivery of   the inception report & work plan; draft continuous professional development framework, validated continuous professional development framework and final report and continuous professional development framework.
