Organisational Context
Stephanos Foundation is a Reformed Christian Non-Governmental Organisation based in Chilangoma, Chileka, Blantyre. Taking care of orphans and vulnerable children in various programmes, such as an orphanage, daycare centre, nursery and primary school, vocational training centre, and outreach projects.

The initiative for the Foundation started in The Netherlands and was established in Malawi in 1994. Stephanos Foundation is registered with CONGOMA and NGORA.

Currently Stephanos Foundation has four vacancies;

Electrical Instructor, Plumbing Instructor, Community Mobilizer/ Feeding Program Coordinator and House
Mother.

Job Title : Community Mobilizer/Feeding Program Coordinator
Reporting to: Project Manager
Level: Junior Level
Location : Lilongwe

Overall Job Purpose :

Effectively and efficiently empower caregivers to ensure that communities take a leading role in providing support to Orphans and Vulnerable children so that they can become responsible mature adults for sustainable development and they contribute to Stephanos Foundation Mission.

Communicate the Organization’s Reformed Christian values and demonstrate a quality of spiritual life that is an example to others.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Participate in planning and budgeting, preparation of work plans, implementation of planned activities and monitoring/ reporting of progress
  2. Facilitate and monitor the implementation of planned activities and community level cres and complemey even engagements.
  3. Mobilize and facilitate the engagements of care givers during planning and implementation of a lean season feeding program.
  4. Facilitate stakeholders and partners in supervision and monitoring of programmatic activities
  5. Develop work plan and roster for care givers rotational tasks at community level.
  6. Build the capacity of children, families and community to collectively engage local leaders on identified issues
  7. Follow-up on commitments by leaders on improvement of the wellbeing of children.
  8. Monitor the wellbeing and child abuse cases and report any accordance in line with child protection policy and guidelines.
  9. Facilitate spiritual nurture of children.

Other Competencies/Attributes:

  • Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of reformed identity is a must
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Highly reliable and dependable.
  • Responsible and mature female aged between 25 – 40.

Person Qualifications:

  • Certificate in Community Development
  • Those with a Diploma shall have an added advantage.
  • 1 – 2 years of work experience in child centered programs.
