
Public Procurement & Disposal of Assets Authority (PPDA)
The Public Procurement & Disposal of Assets Authority (PPDA) was established by an Act of Parliament to regulate the procurement and disposal of Public Assets in Malawi.
PPDA mission is to provide a professional, efficient, and effective regulatory, monitoring and oversight function on all public procurement and disposal matters. To accomplish its mission, PPDA is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following vacant position.
Job Title: Driver
Grade: PPDA 11
Location: PPDA Offices, Lilongwe
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Driver will be responsible for facilitating the mobility of staff in pursuit of the goals of PPDA through the provision of transport. Specifically, the Driver will be required to carry out the following functions:
- Drive members of staff and visitors as assigned Maintain the cleanliness of the Authority’s vehicle
- Maintain the cleanliness of the Authority’s vehicle
- Maintain logbook for the assigned vehicle
- Deliver mail, packages from/to various stakeholders including loading and off-loading official items picked.
- Report on vehicle issues and maintaining minor vehicle faults
- Report on breakdowns and accidents
- Carry out routine check-ups of the vehicles including but not limited to oil, brake function, water, lights and tyres
- Check and advise on vehicles certification to ensure timely renewal
- Consolidate and submit monthly vehicles status report to supervisor
- Any other duties assigned from time to time.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must have Malawi School Certificate of Education, a valid class C1 driving license and defensive driving license with a minimum of two (2) years’ work experience.
Requisite Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
- Basic knowledge in motor vehicle mechanics
- Ability to understand and follow instructions
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to cope with pressure of work
- Good communication skills both written and oral
- Ability to work in a team environment.
