Job purpose
To effectively support the Branch Manager to grow general insurance business to meet set annual premium targets
Key responsibilities
- Meet sales revenue targets
- Secure new business directly or through intermediaries
- Maintain excellent customer service to intermediaries and clients
- Service existing business and create relationships with prospective clients
- Follow up on renewals for general insurance business
- Submit business closure and relevant support documents to underwriting department
- Follow up premium collections
- Prepare weekly reports as required
- Credit control management of debtors
- Undertake initial underwriting in accordance with set guidelines to ensure sound acceptance of risk
- Respond to customer and client enquiries
- Assist to supervise, appraise, train and develop sales staff
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Working relationships
Internal Relationships:
- Accountable to the Branch Manager
- Motivate Sales Staff and ensure they meet individual targets
- Required to liaise and work closely with the other departments as may be necessary
External Relationships:
- Britam customers
- Intermediaries
Knowledge, experience and qualifications required
- Bachelors’ degree in a business related field
- Professional qualification in Insurance (ACI, AlIK, AlISA) will be added advantage
- 2-4 years’ experience in a similar position
