The National Economic Empowerment Fund Limited (NEEF) is a government owned Microfinance Institution whose mission is to economically empower ordinary and underserved Malawian (particularly women, youth, and persons with disability) through the provision of quality, affordable and sustainable microfinance services for Improved.

CHIEF PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER (NF4)

The position is tenable at NEEF Head Quarters
Reporting to: Public Relations Manager

Job Purpose

To contribute to the development, monitoring and implementation of sound and responsive public relations plans, strategies and programmes to effectively promote NEEF products, engage Fund’s audience, and drive business growth.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Providing input in the development and review of public relations strategies and campaigns to enhance the visibility of the Fund among stakeholders and the general public to foster awareness and support
  • Monitoring and implementing public relations strategies and campaigns for the Fund
  • Generating compelling and engaging content that effectively resonates with the Fund’s target audience and enhances engagement.
  • Monitoring social media accounts and PR content from stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging across all communication channels.
  • Performing essential PR functions for the Fund in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Generating articles showcasing success stories from loan beneficiaries to highlight the impact of the Fund’s initiatives.
  • Providing management with insights on industry trends and developments to maintain the relevance and effectiveness of the Fund’s operations.
  • Organizing and coordinating corporate events such as road shows, civic education campaigns, donations e.t.c. as directed by the Manager Developing and maintaining a good rapport with the media by answering their queries, giving media updates and press releases
  • Providing input and technical support in the development and production of corporate publications

Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s Degree in either Mass Communication, Business Communication, Arts, or related field from institution accredited by NCHE.
  • 3 years’ experience in corporate communication or public relations, with at least
  • 2 years in a similar role.
