The National Economic Empowerment Fund Limited (NEEF) is a government owned Microfinance Institution whose mission is to economically empower ordinary and underserved Malawian (particularly women, youth, and persons with disability) through the provision of quality, affordable and sustainable microfinance services for Improved.

CHIEF FINANCE OFFICER (NF4)
The position is tenable at NEEF Head Quarters
Reporting to: Finance Manager (NF3)
Job Purpose
To support execution of financial accounting operations, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations, and providing accurate and timely financial reports to aid decision-making.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Managing cash flow forecasting, bank reconciliations, and petty cash management to maintain optimal liquidity levels
- Overseeing the processing, preparation, and capturing of approved payment vouchers and journal entries within the accounting system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls
- Maintaining accounting books in compliance with the Public Finance Management Act and organizational policies
- Preparing accurate financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), ensuring timely reporting for stakeholders
- Facilitating external and internal audits by providing necessary documentation and implementing audit findings to improve financial processes
- Assisting in managing the budgeting process, including variance analysis, to ensure that departments remain within their allocated budgets while meeting organizational goals.
- Conducting cost analysis to identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements while maintaining quality standards.
- Implementing cost control measures to improve efficiencies and reduce unnecessary expenses in the Fund.
- Preparing periodic financial reports
Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s degree in accounting or finance; ACCA or CIMA partly qualified preferred.
- 3 years work of experience in financial accounting roles.
