SENIOR FINANCE OFFICER NF5 (Management Accounting Division)

Reporting to the Finance Manager (Management Accounting Division) and responsible for Finance Officer.

Job Purpose

The Senior Finance Officer (Management Accounting Division) will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of management accounts, providing critical insights to drive business profitability and growth. This role will oversee core management accounting processes, contribute to financial planning, and mentor a Finance Officer.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyse financial data to identify trends, assess business performance, and provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making and enhance profitability.
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly management reports, including Profit & Loss statements, budgets, cash flow forecasts, and variance analyses.
  • Contribute significantly to the annual budgeting process and prepare regular financial forecasts to guide planning and resource allocation.
  • Conduct thorough variance analysis comparing actual performance against budgets and forecasts; investigate and report on significant discrepancies.
  • Monitor capital expenditure projects, ensuring adherence to approved budgets, and promptly report and address any variances.
  • Maintain and manage the organization’s fixed asset register, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain branch/division profitability reports and financial performance analyses.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support the Finance Officer, fostering their development.
  • Ensure all management accounting activities comply with internal financial policies and relevant external regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Finance;
  • Candidates who are partly qualified in ACCA or CIMA are preferred.
  • 3 years of relevant work experience in financial accounting roles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of integrity.
