VACANCY FOR THE POSITION OF AN OFFICE ASSISTANT / DRIVER
Background
The Government of Malawi (GoM) has received a grant from the International Development Association (IDA) under the Digital Malawi Acceleration Project (DMAP) to increase access to, and inclusive use of, the internet and improve the Government’s capacity to deliver digitally enabled services and intends to apply part of the proceeds for recruitment of Office Assistant/Driver. The PPPC is implementing the project on behalf of the Government of Malawi (GoM).
The Office Assistant/Driver will be based in Blantyre working with the Project Implementation Unit (PIU). The successful candidate will enter into an initial three-year employment contract which will be renewable annually depending on performance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Correct filing and timely extraction of project records
- Ensuring that the office environment is clean
- Routing and circulation of incoming mail
- Delivery and dispatch of outgoing mail assigned by Management
- Driving project vehicles as and when required
- Provision of other office amenities as required from time to time
- Ensuring that all vehicles have valid road worthy documents
- Ensuring the general cleanliness of the vehicles
- Timely reporting technical problems with the vehicles to the appropriate office
- Performing any other job-related duties as may be required from time to time
Key Selection Criteria:
- A full Malawi School Certificate of Education (Demonstrable training in Office Management or related field would be an added advantage)
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position
- Must be mature and of sober habits
- A valid and clean driver’s license is must
- Defensive driving certificate
- Must be willing to work under pressure and during odd hours
Remuneration:
An attractive package will be offered to the successful candidate depending on qualifications and experience.
